Explore Mount Desert Island’s quieter coast on a four-hour private van tour, with local insight, scenic stops, and photo opportunities.

About this tour

Discover the quieter side of Mount Desert Island on a private van tour shaped around coastal scenery and local life. Over four hours, your local guide drives around the island, stopping frequently at hidden gems and scenic viewpoints where you can take in Maine’s rugged coast and capture memorable photos. Rather than entering Acadia National Park, this route focuses on the less-explored parts of MDI and the places that reveal how locals experience the island. Bottled water is provided, and the tour is suitable for all physical fitness levels. Choose this MDI Private Van Tour for a relaxed way to see beyond the familiar park sights and enjoy a different perspective on the island’s coast. Book your ride and let the quieter corners of Mount Desert Island set the pace.

How this score is calculated

This tour has no TourTruth score yet: Viator doesn't show a usable rating for it. It gets a score as soon as a provider lists one.

How the score works
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10. Tours without a usable provider rating are not scored.
