About this tour

As dusk settles over the Cascade Mountains, set out from Bend for a peaceful paddle beneath the stars. On this 4-hour Bend Moonlight and Starlight Canoe Tour, a naturalist guide leads the way across a high-elevation lake, where the night brings forest sounds, still water, and a sky reflected on the surface.

Learn canoeing basics as you explore, then pause to take in the stars with hot cocoa or local craft beer and a dessert from Sparrow Bakery. Along the way, your guide shares regional wildlife observations, astronomy, age-old stories, and the human and geologic history of Central Oregon. Canoes, paddles, personal flotation devices, headlamps, and transportation from the tour office are provided. The experience is beginner-friendly, with instruction available, and tours run rain or shine unless conditions are unsafe.

How this score is calculated

This tour scores 5.00 on Viator and 4.80 on GetYourGuide. Ratings on these sites cluster near the top of the 5-star scale, so we compare each one with all other ratings on the same site before combining them.

How the score works and rating distribution in Bend
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 7.8. Top 9% in Bend means it ranks in the top 9% of tours in Bend by this score.
