Fly above Hilo’s Hamakua Coast on a 60-minute helicopter tour, taking in dramatic cliffs, waterfalls, and the Big Island’s northern valleys.

About this tour

Take to the sky above Hilo for a 60-minute helicopter tour along the Hamakua Coast, where rugged cliffs, cascading waterfalls, and deep northern valleys shape one of the Big Island’s most striking landscapes. From the air, the coastline opens into sweeping views that are difficult to appreciate from the ground.

This flight showcases the Hamakua Coast and the magnificent valleys of the island’s north shore. The experience is operated by a family-owned helicopter company that has been flying on the Big Island for more than 35 years. A live English-speaking guide accompanies the tour, while all fees and taxes are included in the price.

Plan to arrive early: check in at the green-roofed commuter terminal beside the main terminal, and be ready to check in 30 minutes before departure. The operator also requires guests to show up one hour before departure. Share accurate passenger weights in advance, as weight limits may require an additional seat. Book your Hilo Hamakua Coast helicopter tour for a fresh perspective on the island’s cliffs, waterfalls, and valleys.

How the score works and rating distribution in Big Island of Hawaii
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
