Explore Yellowstone’s winter wildlife, hike or snowshoe at Mammoth Hot Springs, and unwind with a mineral soak at Chico Hot Springs.

About this tour

Explore Yellowstone’s winter wilderness on a two-day safari through snow-covered landscapes, steaming hot springs, and the wildlife-rich Lamar Valley, known as the American Serengeti. With guides experienced in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem, this Yellowstone winter wildlife safari offers a chance to look for elk, bison, bighorn sheep, gray wolves, coyotes, bald eagles, and Trumpeter Swans. Wildlife sightings are not guaranteed.

Travel by 4WD vehicle and use professional-grade Vortex spotting scopes and binoculars to scan the landscape. Your guide shares stories of the region’s ancient oceans, volcanic forces, glaciers, Native American tribes, and historical figures. The experience also includes a 1.5-mile snowshoe or hike along the Upper Mammoth Hot Springs Terrace, where you can see Canary, Cupid, and Orange Mound Springs. Later, unwind with a mineral soak at Chico Hot Springs. One night of double-occupancy accommodation, transportation, meals, water, and snacks are included.

Join this Yellowstone winter wildlife safari for a closer look at the park’s remarkable wildlife and wintry scenery. Bring a moderate level of fitness, and remember that the National Park entry fee and guide gratuity are not included.

How this score is calculated

This tour has no TourTruth score yet: Viator doesn't show a usable rating for it. It gets a score as soon as a provider lists one.

How the score works
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10. Tours without a usable provider rating are not scored.
