Watch Chicago’s Holiday Fireworks Show from the river aboard a historic fireboat decorated for the season.

About this tour

Watch Chicago’s Holiday Fireworks Show from the river aboard a vessel with a story of its own. This 60-minute Chicago Fireworks Cruise travels on the Fred A. Busse, a retired Chicago fireboat that served the city as Engine 41 from 1937 to 1981.

After the fireworks, take in the sights along the Chicago River from this historic boat. Inside the cabin, firefighter patches from around the world and memorabilia from Engine 41’s years in service bring its past to life. The vessel is decorated for the holiday season, and a restroom is available on board. Food and alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages can be purchased during the cruise.

Whether you’re drawn by the fireworks, Chicago’s riverfront views, or the chance to step aboard a piece of local history, this Chicago Fireworks Cruise offers a memorable way to spend the evening. Settle in and enjoy the show from the water.

How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 5.00 from 1 review. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in Chicago
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 7.1. Top 47% in Chicago means it ranks in the top 47% of tours in Chicago by this score.
