Snorkel near manatees on a 3-hour Crystal River tour with a scenic boat ride, provided gear, and a group capped at six.

About this tour

Set out from Crystal River for a close-up look at manatees in their natural habitat. This 3-hour Crystal River Manatee Snorkel Small Group Tour pairs a scenic boat ride to the springs with time in the water, where an in-water guide helps you make the most of the experience. With a maximum of six participants, the outing offers a more personal alternative to a large boat tour.

Your snorkeling gear, including a mask, snorkel, and wetsuit, is provided, and licensed, drug-tested captains and guides lead the trip. The meeting point is a historic building with a large porch and free onsite parking. Bring a bathing suit and towel; during winter months, pack a sweatshirt or jacket as well. Wetsuits are available in sizes from toddler 2 to adult 4X. Children 3 and older may join with a paid ticket, while children under 3 are welcome on private trips. Photo packages can be purchased after the tour.

How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 4.94 from 615 reviews. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in Crystal River
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 8.9. Top 16% in Crystal River means it ranks in the top 16% of tours in Crystal River by this score.
