Snorkel Crystal River’s springs with an in-water guide, a full manatee briefing, and a small group of no more than 10 guests.
About this tour
Experience Crystal River from the water on a guided snorkel tour focused on respectful manatee encounters. With a maximum of 10 guests per boat, this small-group outing pairs the expertise of a USCG Captain with an in-water guide for personal support throughout the experience.
Before entering the water, take part in a full manatee education briefing. Then snorkel in the springs, using the provided equipment and wetsuit as your guide helps you explore and look for manatees. Conditions and wildlife activity can vary from day to day, so the crew adapts the outing to the best opportunities available while keeping the focus on responsible wildlife viewing. Bottled water is provided, and the tour lasts 180 minutes.
This Crystal River snorkel with manatees tour offers a thoughtful way to discover the springs with local guidance and a manageable group size. Check in at the River Ventures front desk and get ready to experience Crystal River from the water.

How this score is calculated
This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 4.94 from 124 reviews. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.
How the score works and rating distribution in Crystal River
- Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
- Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
- Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
- The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 8.5. Top 24% in Crystal River means it ranks in the top 24% of tours in Crystal River by this score.
