Explore Gulf waters on a private seven-hour scalloping charter with an in-water guide, snorkeling gear, a spring stop, and catch cleaning.

About this tour

Spend seven hours exploring the Gulf waters on a private scalloping charter from Mangrove Point. With more than 40 years of combined local scalloping and fishing experience, the captains know the area and use GPS locations to help you find a productive spot.

A USCG-certified Master Captain stays aboard, while an in-water guide helps you get started searching for scallops. Snorkeling equipment and a Florida saltwater fishing license are provided, along with bottled water. After time on the water, stop at a local spring to rinse off the salt while the crew cleans your catch. Deluxe seating adds comfort between swims.

Bring your own food and other beverages, and plan to tip the captain and crew separately. Non-swimmers can stay aboard, though the tour is not recommended for them. Meet at the boat docks of The Port Hotel and Marina/Waterfront Social Restaurant, and get ready for a full day on the Gulf with Mangrove Point private scalloping.

How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 5.00 from 11 reviews. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in Crystal River
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 7.7. Top 45% in Crystal River means it ranks in the top 45% of tours in Crystal River by this score.
