Cruise from Destin Harbor past East Pass and Crab Island, spotting dolphins and seabirds aboard the glass-bottom Southern Star.

About this tour

Set out from Destin Harbor for a 90-minute cruise along Florida’s Emerald Coast, where bottlenose dolphins swim in their natural habitat. Aboard the Southern Star, Destin Dolphin Cruise at Sunset pairs coastal scenery with the chance to spot dolphins, seabirds, and other marine life.

The route passes East Pass and Crab Island, with views from a glass-bottom boat. Listen to island music as the captain leads a narrated eco-tour, and enjoy bird feeding during the trip. Evening departures add sunset views over the water. The cruise is family-friendly, with a restroom on board and air-conditioned comfort. Meet at the red ticket booth on the marina level of HarborWalk Village, to the left of Margaritaville. Alcoholic drinks are available only to guests 21 and older; younger travelers are served non-alcoholic drinks.

How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 4.80 from 50 reviews. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in Destin
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 7.1.
