Soak in Chena’s natural mineral waters, visit the Aurora Ice Museum, and explore geothermal facilities on a scenic Interior Alaska outing.

About this tour

Trade the bustle of the road for the warmth of mineral-rich water on a Chena Hot Springs Tour. The scenic drive through Interior Alaska offers chances to spot wildlife along the way to the resort and its famous rock-lined pool.

Once there, relax in the natural mineral waters, then step into the Aurora Ice Museum for a distinctly Alaskan change of scenery and an appletini. A guided tour of the geothermal facilities and greenhouse offers a closer look at the resort’s sustainable energy and food practices. On the return trip, knowledgeable guides can answer questions about Interior Alaska.

Pack a swimsuit, towel, and flip-flops or water shoes for the pool area. Hot springs entry is for guests 18 and older, and lockers cost $0.50 if you choose to use one. Book a Chena Hot Springs Tour for a restorative soak paired with memorable stops and a scenic journey through Alaska.

How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 5.00 from 7 reviews. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in Fairbanks
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 7.5. Top 33% in Fairbanks means it ranks in the top 33% of tours in Fairbanks by this score.
