About this tour
Take on a Fairbanks murder case and see if you can turn scattered clues into a convincing arrest warrant. In this self-guided audio adventure, you step into the role of a newly minted detective, following a story set on the streets of the city.
Choose a walking route through downtown or a driving route on the outskirts, then visit 10 mapped locations. At each stop, listen to the audio story, search for clues, and piece together the evidence at your own pace. A live GPS map provides turn-by-turn directions, while a built-in scoring system tracks your detective work and delivers a final Case Performance Score. The Fairbanks Murder Mystery Detective Experience works for solo sleuths, pairs, or groups of mystery fans.
Bring a charged smartphone and headphones or earbuds, which are not provided. The story contains adult material, including profanity and references to sex, violence, and drug use. How this score is calculated
This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 4.25 from 8 reviews. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.
How the score works and rating distribution in Fairbanks
- Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
- Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
- Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
- The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 6.7.
