Travel from Flagstaff to Monument Valley for an off-road journey, Native American-guided sightseeing, lunch, and Painted Desert views.
About this tour
Leave Flagstaff behind for a full-day journey into the striking landscapes of Monument Valley Tribal Park. On this Flagstaff Monument Valley Day Tour, towering sandstone buttes rise above open desert, while broad mesas shape a horizon familiar from photographs and films.
Travel through the Painted Desert before joining a 1.5-hour off-road excursion in Monument Valley with a Native American guide. Along the way, take in the scale and color of Navajo lands and see the valley’s distinctive formations up close. Hotel pickup and drop-off, lunch, bottled water, and a professional guide are included, making the long day easier to enjoy.
The tour lasts about 10 hours and requires at least four passengers to operate. Departure days are listed inconsistently, so confirm the schedule before booking. Arrange your hotel details at least 72 hours ahead, then set out from Flagstaff for a memorable day among the Southwest’s iconic desert scenery.

How this score is calculated
This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 5.00 from 20 reviews. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.
How the score works and rating distribution in Flagstaff
- Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
- Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
- Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
- The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 8.0. Top 22% in Flagstaff means it ranks in the top 22% of tours in Flagstaff by this score.
