About this tour

Trace the turning points of the Civil War across the fields and ridges of Gettysburg with a self-guided driving audio tour. Follow the battlefield route as GPS-triggered stories connect the places you see with the events that unfolded here more than 150 years ago.

The tour features 80+ stories and more than three hours of commentary, including accounts of Pickett’s Charge, Devil’s Den, and Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address. Start at the suggested point near the Gettysburg Heritage Center or join along the route. Pause for photos, scenic stops, or a closer look, and skip stories that don’t interest you. Download the app and tour in advance to listen offline; one purchase covers everyone in your vehicle, and lifetime access lets you revisit the experience on future trips.

Bring your own car and phone, then explore Gettysburg at your pace. This Gettysburg Battlefield Self-Guided Driving Audio Tour is not an entrance ticket, so check opening hours before you go.

How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 4.35 from 1,065 reviews. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in Gettysburg
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 3.8.
