Hear eerie Civil War-era stories on a self-guided Gettysburg drive, with GPS audio, offline access, and the freedom to explore at your own pace.

About this tour

Explore Gettysburg’s haunted history from the comfort of your own car on a self-guided driving audio tour. The town is known for eerie encounters linked to the Civil War battle, where an estimated 46,000 to 51,000 men were wounded, killed, or missing over three days.

Start at the Gettysburg Heritage Center parking lot or join the route at a point shown in the app. Download the Tour Guide app by Action and the tour while connected to Wi-Fi or strong cellular service. Then follow GPS guidance as audio stories play along the drive. Route maps, scenic stops, local stories, and hidden gems help you explore beyond the main road. Pause whenever you like for photos, hikes, or a picnic, and continue at your own pace. Once downloaded, the tour works offline, and one purchase covers everyone in your vehicle. Access it again anytime with no expiry.

There’s no live guide, so you set the pace and choose your stops. Complete the route by sunset, when parts of the battlefield close. Set up your Gettysburg ghosts driving audio tour before you arrive, then follow the stories wherever the road leads.

How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 3.81 from 80 reviews. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in Gettysburg
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 4.6.
