Cruise Hilton Head’s Broad Creek and Calibogue Sound on a private dolphin tour with a captain sharing Lowcountry stories.

About this tour

Set out from Shelter Cove Marina for a private cruise through the waters and marshes around Hilton Head. On this 90-minute Hilton Head Private Dolphin and Nature Tour, a USCG-licensed captain and guide leads the way through Broad Creek Wildlife Area, Calibogue Sound, and nearby marshes, where Atlantic bottlenose dolphins can be seen year-round.

As you travel aboard a stable, comfortable powerboat, your captain points out places of interest and shares how Lowcountry history, culture, and nature are connected. Bottled water is provided, and the relaxed outing is described as a great choice for families. Not every seat has shade, so keep that in mind when planning your time on the water.

Meet at the Outside kiosk at Shelter Cove Marina, near the Ship Store and Ela's Grill. Choose this Hilton Head Private Dolphin and Nature Tour for a close-up look at local wildlife and a fresh perspective on the Lowcountry coastline.

How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 5.00 from 3 reviews. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in Hilton Head Island
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 7.3.
