Paddle a calm black-water creek near Amelia Island on a private, self-guided Yulee kayak tour through lush Florida scenery.

About this tour

Paddle into the quiet, lush waterways of northeast Florida on a Yulee self-guided kayak tour near Amelia Island. This two-hour outing follows a calm black-water creek, where shaded banks and rich botanical scenery make the journey feel worlds away from the road.

After meeting at Melton Nelson Boat Ramp, set out on a private, one-way-up-and-back route at your own pace. The easygoing water suits beginners, while the natural setting offers plenty to enjoy for experienced kayakers, too. Your kayak, paddle, vest, and bottled water are provided. Kayakers must be able to swim and step into about six inches of water to get in and out; children under 12 ride in a tandem kayak with an adult.

How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 4.90 from 122 reviews. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in Jacksonville
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 8.0. Top 20% in Jacksonville means it ranks in the top 20% of tours in Jacksonville by this score.
