About this tour

Explore Kauai on your own terms with a self-guided audio driving tour that pairs island scenery with stories you might otherwise miss. Set out in your own car, follow GPS route guidance, and let the audio play automatically as you travel through lush landscapes and past pristine beaches.

The tour shares stories of Kauai’s culture and the changes that came with sugar plantations, along with the surprising account of a failed Russian invasion. Route maps, scenic stops, area previews, and planning tools help you shape the day, while local stories and hidden gems add context along the way. Pause for a hike, picnic, or photo whenever you like, then pick up the route again. Download the tour in advance and use it offline; one purchase covers everyone in your car, and lifetime access lets you revisit it on future trips.

This Kauai self-guided audio driving tour has no live guide, so you can explore without a group schedule. Check attraction hours and plan ahead for places that require reservations or entry fees. Download the app and tour before you go, then discover Kauai at your own pace.

How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 4.11 from 106 reviews. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in Kauai
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 4.6.
