Explore Ketchikan’s rustic streets and calm harbor aboard an amphibious vehicle, with live narration, trivia, and playful duck-themed fun.

About this tour

See Ketchikan from both land and water on a playful ride aboard a Coast Guard-certified amphibious vehicle. This 90-minute Ketchikan Duck Tour rolls through the city’s rustic streets before splashing into the harbor for views of Alaska’s First City.

Along the way, enjoy live narration, trivia, and lighthearted duck-themed entertainment. Once afloat, the tour explores the calm, protected waters of the Inside Passage rather than the open ocean. Guests remain seated throughout the ride, though boarding requires climbing a 9-step ladder with steps about 6 inches high. Wheelchairs, strollers, and walkers cannot go aboard, but can be kept in a dry, secure area during the tour.

Meet at cruise ship docks 1–4 and contact the provider at least 24 hours ahead to confirm your departure location. Norwegian Cruise Line passengers must also arrange and pay for transportation from Ward Cove in advance. Settle in for a lively land-and-water introduction to Ketchikan on this one-of-a-kind Ketchikan Duck Tour.

How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 4.71 from 2,978 reviews. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in Ketchikan
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 6.3.
