Walk through Ketchikan’s Tongass rainforest, visit a waterfall, and hear the stories behind Alaska Native totem poles with a local guide.
About this tour
Explore Ketchikan’s lush Tongass National Forest on a guided walk that pairs rainforest scenery with Alaska Native culture. This small-group Ketchikan Rainforest Walk and Totem Park Tour visits two memorable locations in about two hours, with a local guide sharing insight along the way.
Follow a nature trail beneath towering trees, past a cascading creek and a moss-covered forest floor, then pause at a waterfall viewing area. At the totem park, hear the stories behind the carved poles and learn about Alaska Native culture. The group is limited to 11 guests, creating a more personal way to experience the landscape. Bottled water, a Hardy Cookie snack, and cruise ship dock pickup and drop-off are included.
The walk covers 1 to 1.5 miles on gravel, so moderate fitness is recommended. The tour runs in all weather, and rain ponchos or umbrellas are available. Trail and totem park locations may change with conditions. Choose the Ketchikan Rainforest Walk and Totem Park Tour for a close-up look at the forest and the stories rooted in this place.

How the score works and rating distribution in Ketchikan
- Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
- Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
- Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
- The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 7.6. Top 37% in Ketchikan means it ranks in the top 37% of tours in Ketchikan by this score.
