Raft through Black Canyon below Hoover Dam, stop for lunch on a beach, and take in towering volcanic walls with a live guide.

About this tour

Just below Hoover Dam, Black Canyon’s volcanic walls rise nearly 2,000 feet above the river. This Hoover Dam rafting adventure offers a rare view of a dramatic landscape that’s otherwise difficult to reach, all from the comfort of a large raft.

Depart from Lake Mead RV Village in Lake Mead National Recreation Area and travel downstream through Black Canyon with a guide sharing the area’s history and natural beauty. Pause at a beach for lunch, then continue to Willow Beach Marina on the northern reaches of Lake Mohave. After disembarking, you’ll have time to browse or grab a refreshment before boarding a tour bus back to the Black Canyon River Adventures location, with continuation to Las Vegas available depending on the tour.

Bring a hat and sunscreen, and wear a swimsuit beneath your clothes since there’s nowhere to change along the way. Set out on a Hoover Dam rafting adventure for a memorable river-level perspective of this remarkable canyon.

How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. GetYourGuide rates it 4.88 from 8 reviews. We place that rating among all GetYourGuide ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in Las Vegas
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 7.5. Top 28% in Las Vegas means it ranks in the top 28% of tours in Las Vegas by this score.
