Churchill's Finest Hour

Spend a day exploring Churchill’s personal and wartime legacy, from the quiet rooms and gardens of Chartwell to the story of the Battle of Britain. Chartwell offers a glimpse of Churchill’s home life and a place to linger before lunch at an English country pub, once favored by the young airmen who defended the country from the Luftwaffe.

After lunch, choose a visit to the Biggin Hill Heritage Hangar to see the Spitfire up close, or explore the Biggin Hill Memorial Museum and learn about the people who kept the famous fighter station running during the attacks of 1940. The Heritage Hangar has variable opening times and limited capacity, so its visit must be arranged for a suitable date. If your preferred date is unavailable, you’ll be contacted within 24 hours of booking.

With air-conditioned transportation and wheelchair-accessible facilities, Churchill’s Finest Hour brings together personal history, aviation, and a country pub stop. Choose this Churchill’s Finest Hour experience for a thoughtful day tracing the people and places behind a defining chapter of British history.
