London Belsize Park Self-Guided Audio Tour

Explore Belsize Park, London’s artistic enclave, on a self-guided audio walk through the streets where artists, poets and writers helped shape British modernism. In the 1930s, this neighborhood became a creative refuge for British modernists and people displaced by fascism and war.

Over about 90 minutes, pass Henry Moore’s former studio, where he created his Reclining Figure sculptures and wartime Shelter Drawings. Discover the home where Piet Mondrian worked on his celebrated geometric paintings, then admire the modernist Isokon Building, associated with Bauhaus architects and Agatha Christie. The route reveals how Belsize Park, between affluent Hampstead and working-class Camden, offered an affordable home to an extraordinary creative community.
