London Fleet Street Walking Tour

Follow Fleet Street beyond its busy pavement and into nearly two thousand years of London history. This small-group walking tour traces a Roman road beside the now-lost River Fleet, revealing how a muddy riverside track grew into a center of religion, law, literature, power, scandal, and the press.

Wander through forgotten alleys and secret courtyards, and pause at Wren churches that hold stories of their own. Along the way, hear about Dickens, Dr Johnson, and the legend of Sweeney Todd, as well as the monks, lawyers, printers, journalists, and rebels who shaped the neighborhood. Plague, fire, and execution left their marks here, while Fleet Street’s influence reached far beyond its narrow lanes.

With 150 minutes to look closer, this intimate walk connects Roman London to the modern city and separates historical fact from enduring myth. Discover the human stories hidden in plain sight on a London Fleet Street walking tour, and see this storied district with fresh eyes.
