Hear the story behind the fictional barber shop said to have stood at 186 Fleet Street, on the corner of Hen and Chicken Court. First published in an 1845 penny dreadful, the tale still clings to the area’s narrow alleyways and old pubs. The route also visits the Temple, a little-known gas-lit district dating to the 12th century. Along the way, discover streets shaped by London’s history, including pubs dating to the period after the Great Fire of 1666.
