Enter the Tower of London early for the Beefeater Opening Ceremony, then explore its historic towers and exhibitions at your own pace.

About this tour

Step inside the Tower of London before the general public and witness the Beefeater Opening Ceremony, a centuries-old tradition led by the Yeoman Warders. This early-access experience begins with an introduction and orientation from a local expert guide, who helps you understand the Tower’s history, layout, and significance.

Enter the Tower for the ceremony, then continue exploring independently at your own pace. Visit the Crown Jewels, towers, and exhibitions in whichever order suits you, with the freedom to linger where you like. This express experience pairs a guided introduction with the flexibility to discover the landmark on your own. The route covers considerable ground and includes cobblestones, so comfortable shoes and water are recommended. Photography is not allowed inside the Jewel House, and large luggage cannot be brought into the Tower.

Choose this London Tower of London experience for a rare look at the opening ritual and the freedom to explore beyond it. Arrive early, take in the ceremony, and make the rest of your visit your own.

How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 4.44 from 9 reviews. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in London
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 6.7.
