Explore the Tower of London with a Blue Badge guide, timed entry, and a visit to the Crown Jewels and historic fortress sites.

About this tour

Explore London’s Tower of London with a Blue Badge guide and discover the stories behind one of the city’s most famous royal landmarks. With timed entry, you can begin your visit without waiting at the ticket office, then follow your guide through a fortress built by William the Conqueror in the 1070s.

See the Crown Jewels exhibition, including the Imperial State Crown and Koh-I-Noor, and visit historic sites associated with imprisonment and execution. The route includes Tower Green and its scaffold site, Lower Wakefield Tower, the White Tower, Tower Armory, Raven House, and the defensive battlements. You may also visit the Chapel of St Peter ad Vincula, subject to opening times. An optional upgrade adds a Thames cruise operated by the Tower of London; the cruise option brings the total experience to four hours.

A guided London Tower of London tour brings the fortress’s royal history and darker chapters into focus as you explore its landmark buildings and collections. Wear comfortable shoes for the substantial walking, including stairs and uneven surfaces. Choose your preferred option and experience the Tower of London with an expert local guide.

How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 4.60 from 141 reviews. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in London
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 5.8.
