Explore plantation grounds, historic river routes, and Mississippi River views on a private, flexible day trip from New Orleans.

About this tour

Set out from New Orleans for a private day among Louisiana’s historic river landscapes. This New Orleans Plantation Country Day Trip pairs comfortable door-to-door travel with the freedom to explore at your own pace.

Follow historic river routes toward a grand plantation estate, where you can take in the architecture and grounds on your own. Continue along scenic Mississippi River Road, passing rural scenery, historic towns, and views shaped by the region’s agricultural and commercial past. Riverfront viewpoints offer time to pause and take photos, while the flexible itinerary can be tailored to your interests. Your English-speaking local driver shares stories, history, and practical tips along the way, though drivers do not accompany guests inside attractions. Entrance tickets are not included, so you can choose how to spend your time at each stop. A sedan serves groups of 1–3, and a minivan serves groups of 4–6. Stops may be affected by closures for holidays, maintenance, or special events.

Enjoy a personal perspective on the region with a New Orleans Plantation Country Day Trip. Arrange your pickup, settle in, and discover Louisiana’s river-road heritage at your own pace.

How this score is calculated

This tour has no TourTruth score yet: Viator doesn't show a usable rating for it. It gets a score as soon as a provider lists one.

How the score works
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10. Tours without a usable provider rating are not scored.
