Explore New York’s climate response from the water on a narrated 165-minute cruise with an architect and a complimentary beverage.

About this tour

See New York’s climate story from the waterways that shape its future. On the New York Climate Change Tour, a member of the American Institute of Architects New York Chapter connects the city’s waterfront to the urgent work of building a more resilient, sustainable metropolis.

During this 165-minute cruise aboard a classic 1920s-style yacht, hear how New York is responding to climate risks, reducing fossil fuel consumption, strengthening natural habitats, and rethinking transportation infrastructure. The narration also explores sustainable architecture and the environmental justice movement. A complimentary beverage is included, and you can choose private-section or communal-section seating at checkout; tables are assigned.

The route offers a fresh perspective on the city’s waterfront and the decisions shaping its future. A complete circumnavigation of Manhattan is not guaranteed, as bridge issues or river closures can affect the route. Settle in, listen closely, and discover how New York is working toward a more resilient future on the New York Climate Change Tour.

How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 4.88 from 17 reviews. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in New York City
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 7.3. Top 34% in New York City means it ranks in the top 34% of tours in New York City by this score.
