Taste three Greenwich Village pizzas, sip beers at two storied bars, and hear the neighborhood’s history on a 2.5-hour walking tour.
About this tour
Taste your way through Greenwich Village, where New York pizza, neighborhood bars, and generations of creative legends share the same leafy streets. On this New York Pizza, Beer and History Tour, an English-speaking guide brings the Village’s flavors and stories to life.
Sample three distinct pizzas at well-known local pizzerias, comparing styles, ingredients, and the ovens behind each slice. You’ll also hear about the craft of pizza-making from a New York pizzaiolo. Then walk streets associated with writers, artists, and musicians, including F. Scott Fitzgerald, Jackson Pollock, Dylan Thomas, and Bob Dylan. Along the way, stop at two famous West Village bars for your first beer at each, and hear how drinking spots and speakeasies became part of the neighborhood’s history. A bottle of water and all food tastings are included.
The 2.5-hour New York Pizza, Beer and History Tour starts outside Porto Rico Importing Co. on Bleecker Street. Wear comfortable shoes, bring your appetite, and discover the stories behind the Village’s enduring food and culture.

How this score is calculated
This score is based on one provider. GetYourGuide rates it 4.89 from 9 reviews. We place that rating among all GetYourGuide ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.
How the score works and rating distribution in New York City
- Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
- Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
- Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
- The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 7.5. Top 25% in New York City means it ranks in the top 25% of tours in New York City by this score.
