About this tour
Walk through Revolutionary-era New York and encounter the intertwined stories of two women named Deborah, one Black and one White, whose lives unfolded in a city divided by the fight for freedom. This 120-minute guided experience offers a different lens on the Revolution, grounded in the perspective of a Black woman and native New Yorker descended from enslaved Africans.
Meet your licensed local guide at 1 Bowling Green, outside the Alexander Custom House and National Museum of the American Indian. From there, explore the city on foot as your guide shares the women’s stories and the history behind their choices. The tour is an original, descendant-led work created by Lisa Burriss, founder of Black Footprints NYC, Inc. Site entry is not included.

How this score is calculated
This tour has no TourTruth score yet: Viator doesn't show a usable rating for it. It gets a score as soon as a provider lists one.
How the score works
- Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
- Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
- Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
- The result is shown from 0 to 10. Tours without a usable provider rating are not scored.
