Canter across Oahu’s North Shore on a private horseback ride with mountain views, a professional wrangler, and trails for experienced riders.

About this tour

Ride beyond the usual paths on a private Oahu horseback trail ride made for experienced riders. At Gunstock Ranch on the North Shore, meet your professional wrangler for a safety briefing and helmet before setting out on a horse suited to your riding experience.

Follow a mix of open pastures and shaded forest trails, with stops at scenic lookouts overlooking the Waianae Mountains and the Pacific Ocean. Along the way, your guide shares insights into ranch life and Oahu’s paniolo heritage. Feel the rush of trotting and cantering across the landscape, then pause to take in the views and capture photos. The 1.5-hour ride is private for your group, giving your wrangler room to tailor the experience to your skill level. Return to the ranch at the end of the ride, with time to spend with your horse and ask about advanced riding techniques or the ranch’s history. Hotel transfers are not included. Book your Oahu horseback trail ride for a spirited outing through the island’s North Shore scenery.

How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. GetYourGuide rates it 5.00 from 2 reviews. We place that rating among all GetYourGuide ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in Oahu
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 7.2. Top 43% in Oahu means it ranks in the top 43% of tours in Oahu by this score.
