Cruise from Kewalo Boat Harbor to spot humpback whales, hear their songs underwater, and enjoy a donut, coffee, and crew hula.

About this tour

Set out from Kewalo Boat Harbor for an Oahu whale watching tour with a cultural welcome and a chance to hear the ocean come alive. Aboard a two-deck boat, join the traditional E Ho Mai ceremony before cruising near Diamond Head in search of humpback whales.

Watch for tails, fins, and spouts as the crew shares whale commentary written by a qualified naturalist. If whales come close enough, listen to their songs through an underwater hydrophone. A poi mochi donut and coffee add a welcome treat during the cruise, and the crew performs hula as the boat returns to the harbor. Round-trip transportation from Waikiki is included.

Whale sightings are not guaranteed from November 15–30. Starting December 1, sightings are guaranteed, with a complimentary return tour if no whales are spotted. Choose this Oahu whale watching tour for marine wildlife, Hawaiian cultural traditions, and memorable views from the water.

How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. GetYourGuide rates it 4.90 from 13 reviews. We place that rating among all GetYourGuide ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in Oahu
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 7.7. Top 23% in Oahu means it ranks in the top 23% of tours in Oahu by this score.
