Explore overlooked themes of love, desire, and devotion in Louvre masterpieces on a guided tour with a headset.

About this tour

Look beyond the familiar stories in the Louvre and discover how love, desire, and devotion shaped Western art. This guided Louvre Art and Love Tour explores themes often overlooked in celebrated masterpieces, including the history and cultural context of Eros and BDSM.

As you move through the collection, your guide connects artistic passion with the forces that influenced its creation, including Catholicism, the cult of martyrs, and the veneration of pain. A provided headset helps you follow the commentary clearly as you consider the ideas and inspirations behind some of the most influential works in Western art.

The Louvre Art and Love Tour offers a thought-provoking way to see familiar masterpieces from a different perspective. Book your visit to explore the stories and symbolism that conventional art histories can leave in the shadows.

How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 5.00 from 9 reviews. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in Paris
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 7.6. Top 20% in Paris means it ranks in the top 20% of tours in Paris by this score.
