Explore more than 70,000 objects and family-friendly exhibits tracing the history of the First World War at the Museum of the Great War.
Explore the history of the First World War through the objects and documents at the Museum of the Great War. Built around historian Jean-Pierre Verney’s collection, the museum offers a vivid perspective on the conflict and its lasting legacy.
The collection began with nearly 50 years of collecting by Verney. In 2005, the Pays de Meaux acquired more than 50,000 pieces and created a museum to share their stories. Today, the collection contains more than 70,000 objects. Visitors of all ages can make the most of family-friendly resources, including a children’s area, game book, audioguides, and workshops. The museum and its surfaces are wheelchair accessible, and wheelchairs and cane chairs are available.
Visit the Museum of the Great War to encounter the personal objects and records that bring this defining period of history into focus.
