About this tour
Step into a little-known chapter of Paris at Aux Belles Poules, a former brothel whose 1920s décor has been exceptionally preserved. This 60-minute Paris Brothel History Tour offers a rare chance to explore a place that is rarely open to the public.
The property owner shares the history of brothels and prostitution in Paris, looking beyond familiar clichés to explain how these establishments worked, the codes they followed, and the people who shaped their world. Discover the realities behind the fantasies while taking in the surviving period décor. The former rooms no longer exist, but the preserved setting offers a tangible connection to the site’s past.
The experience is wheelchair accessible and suitable for all fitness levels, though it is not recommended for children under 15. Photography of projected images, archives, and documents is prohibited, as is filming or recording any part of the experience. How this score is calculated
This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 4.50 from 2 reviews. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.
How the score works and rating distribution in Paris
- Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
- Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
- Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
- The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 7.0.
