Explore 9,000 years of art and stories of desire on a 150-minute, small-group Louvre tour with an expert guide.

About this tour

Explore the Louvre through a fresh lens on this small-group Paris Homoerotic Louvre Tour, where art reveals stories of desire, masculinity, and the male nude. With no more than six guests, you can follow the details closely and hear the history behind the works from a professional guide.

Across a sweeping 9,000-year span, the tour considers depictions of homosexuality and masculinity, from ancient Mesopotamia to 19th-century French painting. Many Louvre works have religious subjects, yet their makers also left traces of intimate relationships and artistic rivalries. Hear about the drama surrounding Raphael, Leonardo, and Michelangelo, and how their connections shaped the way men appeared in art.

The 150-minute experience includes museum admission for adults. Meet your guide by the Louis XIV statue on horseback, directly in front of the Pyramid at Place du Carrousel. Book this Paris Homoerotic Louvre Tour for a more personal way to read the museum’s art and its stories.

How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 5.00 from 30 reviews. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in Paris
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 8.3. Top 9% in Paris means it ranks in the top 9% of tours in Paris by this score.
