Explore the Louvre’s Egyptian collection on a family-friendly guided adventure, decoding symbols and discovering ancient life along the Nile.

About this tour

Bring ancient Egypt to life on a family-friendly Louvre Museum guided tour in Paris. With a guide leading the way, young visitors explore the museum’s celebrated Egyptian collection and discover how artifacts reveal the beliefs and daily life of a civilization shaped by the Nile.

The adventure moves through key settings, including the Nile River, a scribe’s workshop, and a pharaoh’s crypt. Children are encouraged to think like archaeologists, examine objects, and decode symbols to unlock each stage. The journey ends with a hands-on challenge: learning to write their names in Egyptian symbols. The 120-minute experience offers an engaging way for families to explore the Louvre together. Your guide provides the entrance ticket at the meeting point; tickets are not sent in advance. Meet at 162 Rue de Rivoli, outside the museum, and arrive on time.

How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 4.10 from 274 reviews. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in Paris
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 3.6.
