Explore the Louvre’s provocative art stories on a 150-minute small-group tour limited to six guests, with an expert guide.

About this tour

Step beyond the Louvre’s familiar masterpieces and hear the provocative stories that rarely make it into a standard museum tour. On this Paris Louvre Secrets and Scandals Tour, a professional guide leads a group of no more than six through art shaped by desire, controversy, and turbulent relationships.

Over 150 minutes, explore the questions visitors may hesitate to ask, from the fame of the Mona Lisa to the curious details of Greek and Roman sculpture. The small-group format makes room for conversation and questions as you discover how artists and their subjects challenged the conventions of their time. Your adult entrance ticket is included, and the tour is designed for guests aged 18 and older.

Meet your guide by the Louis XIV statue in front of the Pyramid at Place du Carrousel. Bring valid identification if you qualify for free museum admission. Choose this Paris Louvre Secrets and Scandals Tour for a more candid, intimate way to encounter the museum’s art and stories.

How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 5.00 from 52 reviews. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in Paris
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 8.7. Top 5% in Paris means it ranks in the top 5% of tours in Paris by this score.
