Explore the Louvre’s past with a guide and VR headset, from its medieval fortress to the courtyards and gardens of modern Paris.

About this tour

Step through centuries of Parisian history on a 75-minute Louvre virtual reality tour, where historic scenes unfold around the real courtyards and gardens. With a live guide and a VR headset, you’ll see how the Louvre and its neighborhood changed from the Middle Ages through the 19th century.

Walk through the Square Courtyard, Napoleon III Courtyard, and Tuileries Garden as virtual reconstructions reveal the Louvre’s beginnings as a medieval fortress, Renaissance life at its foot, and a defining moment of the French Revolution. The experience also brings the Palais des Tuileries into view. Between scenes, return to the present and compare what you see with buildings and landmarks that have disappeared. The small-group tour is limited to 10 participants and includes a professional guide and headset; Louvre admission and transport to the meeting point are not included.

Join this Paris Louvre virtual reality tour to connect the city’s past with the places still standing today.

How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 5.00 from 9 reviews. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in Paris
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 7.6. Top 20% in Paris means it ranks in the top 20% of tours in Paris by this score.
