Explore the Marais with a Franco-American guide, discovering hidden courtyards, medieval architecture, Place des Vosges, and Victor Hugo’s home.
About this tour
Explore the Marais on a small-group walking tour led by a Franco-American guide. With no more than 10 people, you can take in the neighborhood’s character while hearing stories and insights from a guide who knows Paris firsthand.
Wander past medieval architecture and tucked-away courtyards, then visit the elegant Place des Vosges and the former home of Victor Hugo. Along the way, your English-speaking guide brings the area’s history and lively streets into focus. Bottled water is included, and the 120-minute walk offers a close-up look at one of Paris’s most distinctive neighborhoods.
Choose this Paris Marais walking tour for a personal introduction to the area, and discover the details you might otherwise pass by. Book your place and experience the Marais on foot.

How this score is calculated
This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 5.00 from 34 reviews. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.
How the score works and rating distribution in Paris
- Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
- Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
- Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
- The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 8.4. Top 8% in Paris means it ranks in the top 8% of tours in Paris by this score.
