Explore Montmartre’s cobbled lanes on a self-guided 3.2 km route with audio stories at 15 stops, from Moulin Rouge to Sacré-Cœur.
About this tour
Montmartre feels like a village perched above Paris, where cobbled lanes, ivy-clad houses, and old cafés wind toward the white domes of Sacré-Cœur. This self-guided Paris Montmartre walking tour connects 15 stops across about 3.2 km, from the Moulin Rouge to the basilica and its sweeping city views.
Follow the route past Picasso’s first Paris studio, the “I Love You” Wall, Le Passe-Muraille, the city’s last working vineyard, Au Lapin Agile, Dalida’s square, and Place du Tertre. At each stop, listen to an audio track or read the commentary in the illustrated downloadable guide. Google Maps links help you navigate the hill’s maze of lanes and stairs, while the self-guided format lets you set your own pace and pause for a coffee whenever you like.
Begin near the Moulin Rouge, opposite Blanche station on Metro line 2, and wear shoes suited to climbing. Discover Montmartre on your own terms with this Paris Montmartre walking tour.

How this score is calculated
This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 3.00 from 1 review. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.
How the score works and rating distribution in Paris
- Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
- Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
- Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
- The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 7.0.
