Explore Montmartre’s artistic streets on a private walking tour, with an optional extended visit to Sacré-Cœur Basilica.
About this tour
Follow Montmartre’s winding streets through a neighborhood shaped by artists, legends, and Parisian bohemian life. This private Paris Montmartre Walking Tour brings the district’s stories to life, from the Moulin Rouge to places connected with Van Gogh, Dalí, and other celebrated residents.
On the 2-hour route, discover highlights including Van Gogh’s house, Le Passe-Muraille, Place du Tertre, and the Wall of Love. Choose the 3-hour option to add a visit to Sacré-Cœur Basilica, whose admission is included. Your licensed guide shares historical details and artistic connections as you explore. The number of attractions depends on the selected option.
Sacré-Cœur is an active place of worship, so access can be limited during Mass or special events, and sightseeing inside must be silent. Optional dome access costs €6.50 per person and involves 300 steps. Meet your guide in front of Sainte-Rita Chapel on Boulevard de Clichy, then set out to discover Montmartre at a private pace. Choose the tour length that suits you and experience this storied corner of Paris.

How this score is calculated
This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 5.00 from 3 reviews. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.
How the score works and rating distribution in Paris
- Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
- Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
- Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
- The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 7.3. Top 35% in Paris means it ranks in the top 35% of tours in Paris by this score.
