Follow a family mystery through Impressionist masterpieces on a French-language guided tour of the Musée d'Orsay in Paris.
About this tour
Step into the Musée d'Orsay and follow a family mystery through the paintings that helped define Impressionism. On this French-language guided tour, Marion, a lecturer and guide whose great-grandfather was an Impressionist painter, traces her family story back to Edouard Bonin and the artists he encountered.
As the story unfolds, works by Manet, Monet, Renoir, Van Gogh, Caillebotte, and other artists become clues in the search for the identity of the mysterious “Maestro” who introduced Bonin to painting and portrayed him in one of his works. The tour brings the Impressionist revolution into focus through a personal narrative, offering a distinctive way to encounter the museum’s celebrated masterpieces. Admission is included, and mobile tickets are available.

How this score is calculated
This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 5.00 from 4 reviews. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.
How the score works and rating distribution in Paris
- Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
- Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
- Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
- The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 7.3. Top 31% in Paris means it ranks in the top 31% of tours in Paris by this score.
