Explore Notre-Dame and Sainte-Chapelle with a private guide, and discover the medieval stories behind Paris’s Gothic landmarks.
About this tour
Discover the Gothic landmarks of Île de la Cité on a 2.5-hour Paris Notre Dame and Sainte-Chapelle Private Tour. With a local guide dedicated to your party, explore the cathedral’s exterior and hear the stories behind its medieval construction and symbolic details. Notre-Dame is an active church, so commentary takes place outside; entry to its interior is free but not guaranteed and is separate from the tour.
Continue to Sainte-Chapelle, where a group reservation provides timed-entry and reserved access. Inside, take in the vivid stained-glass windows and the colored light that has made this chapel one of Paris’s most memorable medieval sights. Your guide connects the architecture and imagery to the beliefs and craftsmanship of the Middle Ages as you explore the island’s historic setting.
Meet in front of Odette Pastry Shop at 77 Rue Galande, where your guide will carry an orange My Private Paris sign. Choose this Paris Notre Dame and Sainte-Chapelle Private Tour for a personal introduction to two remarkable Gothic monuments.

How this score is calculated
This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 4.90 from 50 reviews. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.
How the score works and rating distribution in Paris
- Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
- Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
- Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
- The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 7.8. Top 16% in Paris means it ranks in the top 16% of tours in Paris by this score.
