Explore Notre-Dame’s Gothic façade with an expert guide, then visit the cathedral interior independently at your own pace.

About this tour

Meet your guide in the square before Notre-Dame Cathedral and trace the stories written into one of Paris’s most recognizable Gothic façades. On this 60-minute Paris Notre-Dame Cathedral Guided Tour, hear about the landmark’s history and restoration as you take in its towers, gargoyles, and celebrated rose windows. After the exterior walk, continue inside independently and explore the cathedral at your own pace. The cathedral’s entrance is free; the guided experience is separate from access to the interior. Choose the Sainte-Chapelle option for skip-the-line access to another striking Gothic landmark. Your guide brings the architecture and history into focus, while time to explore on your own lets you linger over the details that catch your eye. Arrive 15 minutes early at the Statue de Charlemagne et ses Leudes, where your guide will be easy to spot with an Uncle Sam Tours board. Dress modestly for this place of worship. Discover the stories and stonework that make the Paris Notre-Dame Cathedral Guided Tour a memorable way to experience the heart of the city.

How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 4.50 from 28 reviews. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in Paris
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 6.3.
