Explore Notre-Dame Cathedral and historic Île de la Cité on a two-hour guided walk with an expert local guide in a small group.
About this tour
Discover Paris’s historic heart on a two-hour guided walk through Île de la Cité, with a visit to Notre-Dame Cathedral. In a semi-private group of up to nine, an expert local guide brings the island’s history and the cathedral’s Gothic design to life.
Admire Notre-Dame’s vaulted ceilings, stained glass, and sacred altars when access inside is available, then explore the surrounding island on foot. Cathedral entry is free, but guided access inside is not guaranteed because of restrictions or liturgical celebrations. If the group cannot enter, your guide will share explanations from outside. Security checks are mandatory, and fast-track entry is not available.
Meet outside Brasserie Les Deux Palais, not at the cathedral, and arrive 15 minutes early. Choose this Paris Notre-Dame Cathedral & Île de la Cité Guided Tour for an intimate introduction to one of the city’s most storied landmarks and its historic setting.

How this score is calculated
This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 4.70 from 104 reviews. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.
How the score works and rating distribution in Paris
- Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
- Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
- Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
- The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 6.5.
