About this tour
Discover Notre-Dame Cathedral and the historic heart of Paris on a guided walk across Île de la Cité. Your local guide introduces the cathedral’s restored exterior and shares the history behind one of the city’s most recognizable landmarks. Along the way, explore the island’s medieval streets, historic bridges, and tucked-away squares, with views over the Seine.
After the guided walk, enter Notre-Dame independently and explore the interior at your own pace. Your guide offers recommendations on details to look for, while the flexible visit lets you linger inside as long as you wish. You can also choose an upgrade for entry to Sainte-Chapelle or a fully guided Notre-Dame visit. The cathedral is free to enter, though visitor demand can mean longer waits.
This Paris Notre-Dame Cathedral Walking Tour pairs local insight with time to explore on your own. Bring comfortable shoes and water, then join the walk to experience the architecture, history, and atmosphere of Île de la Cité.

How this score is calculated
This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 4.41 from 1,473 reviews. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.
How the score works and rating distribution in Paris
- Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
- Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
- Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
- The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 4.1.
