Explore Notre-Dame’s Gothic history with an English-speaking guide, and choose an interior, exterior, or Sainte-Chapelle tour option.

About this tour

Discover the story of Notre-Dame, a Paris landmark shaped by centuries of faith, art, and Gothic design. On this 60-minute guided experience, hear an English-speaking guide bring the cathedral’s architecture and role in Parisian culture to life, with headsets to make every detail easier to follow.

Choose the option that suits your visit: explore the exterior, or take a guided visit with scheduled group access inside. You can also select an option that includes Sainte-Chapelle, another celebrated Gothic landmark. Notre-Dame’s entry is free, and the guided service is independent of access to the cathedral interior. Group tours are capped at 24 guests, creating a more focused way to take in the stories and details. Meet your guide near the statue at the meeting point, and dress modestly for this active place of worship.

Make time for the history, architecture, and atmosphere that make a Notre-Dame tour a memorable part of a Paris visit.

How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 4.53 from 561 reviews. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in Paris
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 4.9.
