Explore Monet’s Water Lilies and the Orangerie’s celebrated collection with a professional visual artist as your guide.
About this tour
Step into the Musée de l’Orangerie for a closer look at art, architecture, and the stories behind both. On this 2-hour Paris Orangerie Museum Tour with an artist, a guide who is also a professional visual artist brings an artist’s perspective to the museum’s celebrated collection.
Spend time with Claude Monet’s monumental Water Lilies, created for galleries designed to evoke stillness, healing, and the passage of time. Learn how Monet shaped the space around his vision and what the paintings meant in postwar France. The tour also traces the building’s transformation from imperial greenhouse to artistic sanctuary, then explores the Jean Walter and Paul Guillaume collection, with works by Picasso, Modigliani, Matisse, and others.
An art historian guide and admission are included. Meet your guide near the museum rather than entering on your own. Choose this Paris Orangerie Museum Tour with an artist to see familiar masterpieces through fresh historical and artistic insight.

How this score is calculated
This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 5.00 from 2 reviews. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.
How the score works and rating distribution in Paris
- Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
- Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
- Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
- The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 7.2. Top 41% in Paris means it ranks in the top 41% of tours in Paris by this score.
