Explore Versailles with timed palace entry, an expert English-speaking guide, and time to wander the gardens at your own pace.

About this tour

See the Palace of Versailles without the hassle of arranging every detail yourself. This Paris Palace and Gardens Tour combines timed palace entry with an expert English-speaking guide who brings the former royal residence to life. Explore the state apartments, Royal Chapel, and dazzling Hall of Mirrors while hearing stories of the Bourbon court.

After the guided palace visit, get an introduction to the gardens before setting out on your own. Wander among the formal parterres, fountains, and groves at your own pace, with time to visit the Trianon Estate. Depending on the option selected, your experience may include round-trip train tickets and a guided train journey from Paris, or meet-up directly at Versailles without transport.

Expect around three hours of walking and standing, plus a short walk between the station and palace entrance on train-based options. Arrive on time, wear comfortable shoes, and bring water. Choose the version that suits your plans and discover the palace and gardens with the key logistics taken care of.

How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 4.41 from 4,754 reviews. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in Paris
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 4.0.
